On The Ranch
The first of our two community centers is now open in South Village. It is for homeowners only and will be maintained by the master owner's association. An area has also been reserved for civic buildings which includes the new Reedy Fork Elementary School.
On the East side of Highway 29 we've planned for offices, shopping and recreational areas, as well as the villages. The West side includes business and industrial centers. Literally next door is Bryan Park, with its championship golf course, soccer fields, meeting center and boating and fishing from the Lake Townsend Marina.
In every way, Reedy Fork Ranch is a walkable community. There are sidewalks in all the villages, plus connecting walkways and miles of paved trails that take you through the natural 500-acre greenway.
The trails, planned to be included in the future in the Mountains to the Sea system, frequently follow the many creeks that wind through our rolling hills.
Along the way you may encounter wildlife ranging from ducks to deer, and since Reedy Fork is still a working ranch, you may run into some cows, too.
Go to the Neighborhood Map for a complete look at the location of the trails, creeks and villages or come see for yourself. Site plans are also available at the Information Center.
Around The Ranch
Just one and a half miles from the ranch you will find two shopping areas: Hicone Shopping Center and the Shops on Hicone. Both are at the corner of Hicone and Rankin Mill Road. You will find a major supermarket, dry cleaner, restaurants, movie rentals, banking, a pharmacy and more. More shopping is also located less than 10 minutes away at The Village at North Elm with a variety of specialty shops and dining.Wal-mart has completed construction on a new superstore at Highway 29 and Cone Blvd. This is a very convenient location for Reedy Fork residents.
Since Reedy Fork is located just off Highway 29, a major North-South artery, you have quick access to cross town roads like Wendover Avenue and Cone Boulevard, as well as Interstates 85 and 40.
Bryan Park, literally next door to the ranch, is part of the city's Parks and Recreation Department and offers golf, boating, picnicking, hiking trails and athletic fields.
